CHIZ IN TOP 3 OF MOST PREFERRED SENATORIAL BETS, SAYS PULSE ASIA

Sorsogon Governor Chiz Escudero, who is seeking a fresh six-year mandate in the Senate, is in the top 3 of most preferred senatorial candidates in the latest pre-election survey conducted by Pulse Asia from October 28 to November 1, 2021.

Escudero, who has served the Senate from 2007-2019, got 57.3 percent voter preference, placing third after broadcast journalist Raffy Tulfo and incumbent Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano, who got 68.4 percent and 59.9 percent, respectively.

Pulse Asia said the poll asked the respondents to choose 12 aspirants who they will most likely vote for if the May 2022 elections were held today.

The latest Pulse survey has yet again validated the veteran legislator’s solid footing among the different organizations and firms conducting pre-election surveys.

Last week, the Social Weather Station (SWS) survey, which was conducted from October 20-23, showed the former senator as the second most preferred senatorial candidate, with 51 percent of the respondents saying they would vote for him in the May 2022 national elections.

Escudero, who is running under the Nationalist People’s Coalition, was number one in Publicus Asia’s Third Quarter PAHAYAG survey, with 60 percent of its respondents indicating that they would vote for him in next year’s elections.

His candidacy is supported and endorsed by the tandem of Senator Ping Lacson and Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto, the team of Senator Manny Pacquiao and BUHAY Party List Rep. Lito Atienza, and Vice President Leni Robredo and running mate Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan.
