CHIZ IS NO. 2 PREFERRED SENATORIAL CANDIDATE IN LATEST SWS SURVEY

Sorsogon Governor Chiz Escudero has maintained his strong standing among the most preferred senatorial candidate, with 51 percent of the respondents saying they would vote for him in the May 2022 National Elections, according to a survey conducted the Social Weather Stations from October 20 through 23.

The latest nationwide SWS survey, which was commissioned by Stratbase ADR Institute for Strategic and International Studies (ADRi), showed that Escudero was the No. 2 pick among 30 names listed by the pollster, trailing behind broadcaster Raffy Tulfo.

The special nationwide survey which used the total registered voters as base would give Escudero almost 32 million in potential votes come election day, validating the veteran legislator’s solid footing among the different organizations and firms conducting pre-election surveys.

Prior to this, Publicus Asia said Escudero topped its Third Quarter PAHAYAG survey, with 60 percent of its respondents indicating that they would vote for him in next year’s elections. Publicus polled 1,500 respondents from approximately 200,000 registered voters across the country after the deadline for filing of certificates of candidacy on October 8.

Escudero, who served the Senate for two consecutive terms from 2007-2019, is running in next year’s May national elections under the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC).

The veteran legislator’s candidacy is supported and endorsed by the tandem of Senator Ping Lacson and Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto, the team of Senator Manny Pacquiao and BUHAY Party List Rep. Lito Atienza, and Vice President Leni Robredo and running mate Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan.
